David Pitcher's Andromeda Dodecahedron is an advanced and highly challenging twisty puzzle that builds on the concept introduced with his earlier Andromeda Cube. While the Andromeda Cube is based on the pentagonal icositetrahedron with 24 axes of rotation, the Andromeda Dodecahedron is based on the pentagonal hexecontahedron and features a remarkable 60 axes. Every move is a jumbling move, which changes the puzzle’s shape and makes solving it particularly complex. A variant of this puzzle, known as the Andromeda Dodecahedron Unbandaged or Plus, adds extra cuts that reduce bandaging and allow pieces near face centers to swap with corner pieces, increasing both freedom of movement and overall difficulty.
